Tecmo Offers Collectable Kasumi Squishy Pillow
March 2005

One of the Dead or Alive series’ most recognizable characters is Kasumi, a busty female ninja that wouldn’t think twice about snapping the neck of any geeky, wide-eyed gamer.  Yet Kasumi, thanks to her killer martial arts skills and aesthetically pleasing appearance, apparently has a niche fan base few are aware of.  When DOA’s gurus Tecmo revealed a collectable “Squishy Pillow” adorned by the image of everyone’s femme fatale, here’s what Amped IGO (then called Inside Gamer Online) had to say:

“Don't be shy. All those hours logged into Dead or Alive Ultimate - we know what you've been thinking. If only you could... you know... meet one of the characters in real life. Especially one of the females. Kasumi would definitely go for a guy like you.

Or maybe not.

Regardless, Tecmo is bringing gamers the next best thing with the Kasumi Squishy Pillow. The exclusive collector’s item is now available for purchase at the Tecmo Online store. Fabricated with stress relieving micro-beads and wrapped in a gentle, stretchy lining, the Kasumi Squishy Pillow is incredibly soft to the touch. An image of the female beauty wearing bright pink lingerie is displayed on both sides of the 18' x 18' pillow, making it the ideal item for fatigued Dead or Alive fans after a hard day's work.”

Around the same time, Tecmo encouraged gamers to pre-order Kasumi 3D Gel Mousepads.  You can guess which part of Kasumi was in 3D:

“Prepare to rest your wrist in between the bosom of your favorite gal, Kasumi,” reads a description on Tecmo’s website.  “Not only is she fun to look at, she also provides the ultimate in wrist support and comfort! These mouse pads are a must have for the DOA fan who's stuck behind a computer all day! Pick up the ultimate DOA mouse pad today for $25.00. Your wrist will never be happier!”

If you can honestly say that the Microsoft Xbox didn't have a heck of a run, or at least didn't keep our news team busy, then nothing phases you. Regardless, the Xbox took a lot of steps forward. Overcoming the label given to the console at first and Microsoft's reputation of monopolizing industries to becoming a real player in the game. Now, with the Xbox 360 just a couple of weeks away, news' focus has shifted to Microsoft's next-gen console, but let's not forget the entertainment the Xbox provided in its first ever run in the console gaming industry.
