will my pc be able to run it at 1024 x 768 / med-high settings / around 40 fps? basically can i run this game with little to no problem? if it helps i run TF2 at these settings and get that framerate.

if it will run well then i'll just buy it now, if not i'll wait for the ps3/360 version.

You'll also need jet fuel because that game has some astronomical system requirements :-P

You're rig is pretty damn good though, it should be able to handle it. You might need like 4 GB of Ram though.

Is that a Dual core AM2 4000+ cpu you have if so it might be worth looking into getting a 8800GT nvidia card for that machine, if you still want to buy UT3 for PC that is.

Card its self is better and cheaper than 8800GTS and only a bit behind the 8800GTX..
 Up to you though at the end of the day if your into modding stuff then get the PC version. Your 2Gigs of Ram should be fine as well.. as it wont reconize any thing more anyway with it being XP

6800 where nice cards I used to have one, never been big on  ATI though but I here they do make some good ones as well

You won't be getting 40fps at medium settings, but you'll still be able to run it decently. If you want to run the game well however, get yourself an 8800GT. Best price/performance ratio on the market.

I'm not quite sure how it will run on that system, 2gb should run the game ok, I think the graphics card will let you down a bit, also is the 4000 a dual core cpu ? if it is then you might just need to think about a graphics card update, as others have suggested the 8800 series of cards are great. I think there is a demo you could download and give it a try to see how it runs I guess.

I run a AMD x2 4400, 2gb RAM and a 8800GTX and I can run the game at 1920x1200 with full details on and usually get about 60fps, I get the odd drop to around 40fps but the game looks lovely and is perfectly playable.

i downloaded the UT demo and it doesn't run as well as i hoped. =(  runs decent at low-medium settings. looks like i'll be getting it for the ps3 once i get one. that way i'll still be able to use my mouse and use mods.

I have the same video card you have. But I have better ram and processor and it ran on medium high with the demo. But I'm getting it for the PS3 also :D
