As a job listing on their site filtered around the intrawebz, Blizzard confirmed rumors that they are working on a brand new Massively-Multiplayer Online Game that has nothing to do with their Warcraft franchise.

I know most of you have already read or heard of this story. Let's speculate on what sort of MMOG it's going to be. Note that it was only stated to be a MMOG, not an MMORPG, which leaves the subject of genre wide open.

Most suspicions are on one of their other licenses (Diablo or Starcraft), and those are probably the most likely scenarios. It would be interesting to see them try and create a new IP.

Id love them to do a starcraft one or some thing thats not fantasy other wise it would just be another WOW so to speak

Two years ago GS april fools joke was that Blizzard anounced world of SC and they had it exclusive... I fell for it.

I'd love a world of Diablo with instanced dungeons, episodic quests, and of course, swurt loot.

Well it wount be Diablo, most of the people making Diablo is gone. I doubt starcraft, it dosen't have the story, yet. Maybe after Starcraft 2, i can see that,...But not Diablo!

Blizzard still owns the Diablo license, and I'm sure they're more than capable of producing an MMO using WoW as a model. Sorc for life!

Yeah, but the thing about Blizzard is the great games...And it wount have the same Diablo *charm* as the last had...And i hope it wount happen...They can make a Diablo3, i would buy it and play it...But not an Diablo MMO....

I don't think it would be smart to do a Diablo MMOG. It's too close in theme to World of Warcraft (fantasy) that the sales may cannibalize each other. Starcraft on the other hand is sci-fi. I think it would be a very smart move if they did a Starcraft MMOG. I'm not a Starcraft fan, but I can see how smart of a business move it would be.
